My personal growth journey looks a lot more like this scribbly gum than a straight, upward-trending line.
I trust it so much more when I remember that I am nature. Growth and change happen in cycles: autumn, winter, spring, summer. The moon reminds me of this all the time. So does my body.
These seasons can apply to all facets of our lives: relationships, sexuality, career, the menstrual cycle, spirituality, creativity.
I recognise the edgy feeling of autumn when it feels like things don’t fit right anymore. I panic less now when nothing is happening, when I feel inexplicably low in energy, when the things I desire feel so far away. I’m in an internal winter. I celebrate the building momentum and opening buds of spring. And I celebrate the fruits and pleasure of summer while trying not to cling too desperately to the good times, hahaha.
The more I pay attention to which season I’m living in my pleasure, in my partnership, in my business, the more I build trust in the cycle and can work with it, rather than resist it.
